The best laid plans...

Marisa Clements was never satisfied writing the ‘gossip column’ in the local paper and she quit her job to follow her dream of writing fiction. Floundering in an unforgiving industry, she wrote about vampires, a popular subject she considered fascinating but as real as unicorns, to pay the rent.

Corgan was tired of human misconceptions about vampires and ‘living’ as a vampire. He planned to tell Marisa his story and end his existence. It was no coincidence Corgan selected Marisa to write his story. With the ability to see the future, he knew she would be a major part of it. He knew if they met, she would help him die, but in doing so, she’d be doomed to the same fate. Once they met, their futures would be irrevocably intertwined.

Corgan began to care for Marisa and finally revealed the truth to her. He admitted his quest to atone for his past sins had put her in grave danger from a nest of revenge seeking vampires. Corgan must claim her for her own protection. But claiming her is not enough, he must ask for help from his wizard friends and his maker in order to destroy his enemy or Marisa will never be safe.

Across the table, she noticed his eyes changing color. He gripped the edge of the tablecloth, his knuckles turning white, looking like he was about to barrel over.

As she breathed deeply, she sensed the familiar restlessness settle in. From across the room, she spied the dark stranger. His hot, perusing gaze warmed her skin like a soft caress. She moaned, her lips subtly puckered, begging to be kissed. Walking toward him, drawn to his irresistible nature, her heart pumped erratically. Her whole body pulsed, the beat within her chanting its desire. Suddenly, she found herself wrapped in his powerful arms, tilting her face up to his.

Cynthia’s dreams are so real, they are actually coming true – complete with the prerequisite dream guy. But things are not as they seem.

This is a #SexySnippet from Fly Boy, a contemporary romance I wrote before I realized my passion lay in paranormal.

Jaded and overworked Will Harris seems an unlikely match for the naive and independent Kristen Stephens.  Will is looking for a distraction to take his mind off a failed relationship.  Kristen has a firm focus on her career and surreptitiously avoids relationships of any kind.  Meeting on a plane allows a certain amount of anonymity and, seeing Kristen as the perfect distraction, Will intentionally conceals his identity from her.  Add in meddlesome parents, pregnancy allegations from former lovers and Kristen’s lack of sophistication to the list of obstacles that stand in their way. But Will is nothing if not persistent and soon he takes her on a passionate journey, changing their lives and entwining their destinies.

This scene is between my heroine Kristen, a down-to-earth landscaper, and cavalier businessman Will. They were enjoying the New York City skyline from the comfort of Will's yacht when storm clouds suddenly blew in and they are caught unexpectedly in a storm.

This is a #SexySnippet from Dream Hunter, my latest paranormal romance. This scene is between my heroine Cynthia and her guardian angel Gabe near the beginning of the story. Let's set the stage... In one day, Cynthia has found out there is a threat against her workplace and she has a guardian angel to protect her. A normally independent woman, Cynthia has a hard time accepting help, let alone protection, from someone else. Her reaction to his help is a confused mixture of gratitude and resentment. In this scene, Gabe has just told her he has retrieved some clothes and toiletries from her apartment for her stay.

How dare he? Indignation shook her to the core. ...Before she could even open her mouth, he grabbed her shoulders with both his hands and smashed her lips against his.

“Mmph,” she protested with little resistance as he proceeded to nip her bottom lip, sending tremors all the way down to her toes. Her anger forgotten, she submitted to his arousing assault. With a soulful sigh, she relaxed against his muscular body. Appreciating the feel of the hard panes of his chest under her small hands and the way he trembled under her touch.

This time, Kaley tracks Katrina down at a Canadian ranch where she discovers her sister is engaged and planning a wedding to a near stranger. This scene is between my heroine Kaley and the owner of the ranch, Hunter.

A #SexySnippet from my short story Carrie’s Bliss... between my heroine Carrie and two masseuses, Lucinda and Rian. Carrie's best friend Jay decides she needs a little pampering after her recent break-up with Richard and books her for some special treatment at Bliss Day Spa.

“Are you cold, lass?” Rian asked as he applied lotion to her thighs.

“No.” Carrie moved her legs apart so Rian could reach her inner thigh.

“Good.”

Under the sheet, Rian pushed her legs a bit further apart and rubbed the lotion in a circular motion, his fingers gently grazing her nether lips. The touch caused her to open up and Carrie ached to be touched more intimately. As Rian continued to work her inner thighs, Lucinda moved to the head of the table again and to apply lotion to Carrie’s arms.

“Yes?” Rian questioned as he pressed his hands on her inner thighs.

Laurie is a hard-working young woman, the sole caregiver of her younger siblings, who needs a little fun and excitement, a night away from all her responsibilities. Little does she know, she has a secret admirer who is willing to make all her dreams come true and not just for one night.

She boldly unzipped her dress and stepped out of it, leaving her in a black satin chemise with garters.

For a split second she thought she saw doubt flit over the exposed features of her mystery man. But she was too far gone to care now. She advanced predatorily on him. He might have gulped but his sudden turnaround only spurred her desire. She had never been the pursuer before and she reveled in the feeling as he backed up toward the bed and abruptly sat down. Feeling like everything she had ever wanted was within her reach, she grabbed the front of his shirt and pulled him in for a kiss.
