Featuring Senemut from Lady of the Two Lands

Welcome back to 'My Character's Favorite Quote.' This week's guest is Senemut of Lady of the Two Lands by Elizabeth Delisi.

"Little Warrior" is a term of affection that Senemut uses when talking to Hatshepsut. Here it is with a short excerpt.

“I understand, little warrior. You have been so brave! But we cannot live our lives in fear. We must be cautious, but we must go on.”

Lady of the Two Lands by Elizabeth Delisi

One minute, Hattie Williams is in a museum, sketching a gold necklace that belonged to Hatshepsut, first female Pharaoh of Egypt; and the next, she's lying in a room too archaic to be the museum, with a breathtakingly handsome, half-naked man named Senemut bending over her.

Hattie soon discovers she's been thrust into the body and life of Hatshepsut, with no way back to her own time. Tuthmosis, the heir to the throne, hates her; the High Priest of Amun and the commander of the army want to kill her and Tuthmosis; and the best bathroom facilities in the country are the equivalent of a cat-box.

To make matters more difficult, she's falling helplessly in love with Senemut, and soon, she's not sure she even wants to return home. To protect Tuthmosis from assassination, the lovers arrange to put Hattie on the throne. But, what should she do when she suddenly finds herself, an obscure artist from Chicago, crowned ruler of all Egypt?

Featuring Draven Wick from One Night in Daytona Beach

Welcome to Summer 2020 and another Summer Series on Maya's Musings. This year's theme is 'My Character's Favorite Quote' with an amazing line-up of authors and books to entertain you all summer long. My first guest is Draven Wick from One Night in Daytona Beach by Dellani Oakes.

With a flick of his toes, Draven retrieved the baton, wielding it like a sword in front of Moose.

"You don't own me," he cautioned. "I did a favor, that's the only reason I'm here. That favor is done, I'm gone. You come after me and mine, pieces of you will go missing. Are we clear?"

Moose said nothing.

"Don't f**k with me, fat man. I don't play nice with others. Remember that."

"This isn't over, boy!"

"It's been over, Moose. I'm done. I'm gone."

One Night in Daytona Beach: #17 in Tirgearr Publishing's City Nights Series by Dellani Oakes

He hadn't seen her in 10 years, but there she was, dressed in black leather, straddling the Harley. Draven Wick is back home, on a break from filming his vampire themed TV show, when he spots Jamie Humphrey at a Bike Week raffle. The love of his teen life, Draven never thought he'd see her again. Rekindling their romance after 10 years is the easy part. Unfortunately, Draven has been blamed for the death of a notorious bike gang leader. Staying ahead of the police, and the biker gang bent on revenge, takes Jamie and Draven to the brink of disaster.

Character Interview with Michael Kincaid from Fight for You

1.
Describe yourself in one word.
Fly. :)
2.     If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I'd be bulletproof. I'm real sick and tired of getting shot and stabbed. It's not exactly fun. I do have some wicked awesome scars though.
3.     What do you want most from life?
To wake up fifty years from now with my girl by my side and know that I managed to keep her safe despite all the bullshit.
4.     What is your greatest fear?
Telling January the truth and losing her for good. She's the center of my world. I spent 10 years trying to live without her, but I never forgot her and I never stopped loving her. Losing her would destroy me, and I am legit terrified once she knows the truth, she'll kick me out of her life for good.

5.     What is your greatest regret?
I have a lot of those. My biggest though? Destroying January's life. Had I known then what I know now, I would have made so many different choices. If I could go back, I'd do everything different, keep her from losing everything that mattered to her.
6.     How do you decide you can trust someone?
I can count on one hand how many people I trust. They earned it by stepping up and handling business. When your back is against a wall and you're fighting for your life, very few jump into the trenches with you. Those who do though? Those are your people. You fight for those people. You die for those people.
7.     What unusual hobbies or interests do you have?
Does terrorizing gang members count? Because I gotta say, ripping their shit apart doesn't exactly suck.
8.     What or who is the greatest love of your life?
January James. I met her when she was four and I was seven. She looked like a tiny little doll, running as fast as she could to get to her big brother. When she fell down, instincts I didn't even understand told me I needed to protect her. And then she looked up at me with those big green eyes, and I knew I'd do anything to make her smile. All these years later, I'm still so gone for her it's ridiculous. She's still so tiny and so damn perfect. I'm wrapped around her little finger and I'm not afraid to admit it.

About Fight for You
Some things are worth fighting for.
Some people are worth dying for.
For me, January James is both.
Too bad she hates me.
Ten years ago, I destroyed her life and lost everything that mattered to me. I've been in hell since, desperately trying to forget her even though I've never been able to do it. She still haunts me.
Now a dangerous enemy from my past has it out for her. He isn't going to stop until he gets what he wants. I know I should stay away before I hurt her all over again, but I can't do it.
It's time to stop running and start fighting for her.
My name is Michael Kincaid, and this is my swan song.  When it's over, I'll either be the monster at the end of this book…or I'll be the man January deserves.
Fight for You is an angsty and emotional brother's best friend, second chance romance. "...For me this book was reminiscent of Interview with a Vampire, a tiny smidge of Misery (you’ll get the reference once you read it), a little bit Twilight mixed with a whole lot of originality, romance and drama, with the intimate scenes being softer and more fade to black than vampire books often portray..."  -- Emerald Book Reviews

"...This book is quite a specimen because it's worth isn't just in the romance development but in the stories behind our hero and heorine. I highly recommend this novel to those searching for something much fulfilling, interesting and enchanting than your typical romance..." -- 2 Girls Book Reviews

"...
An overall cute story... A tale of surprises, love, the paranormal, the power of true love's connection and the danger that protecting your loved one can bring... Definitely high on the romance and HEA factor, but with surprises around every corner to keep you on your toes..."  -- TDC Book Reviews
